Die Hohen Tauern sind ein wildes Bollwerk im Hauptalpenkamm, das an der Grenze von Nordtirol, Salzburgerland und Osttirol verläuft. Hier stehen einige der beeindruckendsten Gipfel Österreichs in einem Nationalpark dessen Berglandschaft in den Ostalpen seinesgleichen sucht. Kein Wunder also, dass jeder begeisterte Skitourengeher die Skiroute, auf der sich dieser Gebirgszug durchqueren lässt, gerne irgendwann einmal in sein Tourenbuch schreiben will. Die Hoch Tirol ist ein herausforderndes Unterfangen, bei dem es jeden Tag mindestens einen 3000er zu bezwingen gilt. In 6 Tagesetappen von Berghütte zu Berghütte findet die Tour ihr fulminantes Finale auf dem höchsten Berg Österreichs - dem Großglockner (3798m).
Aus allen Richtungen sieht man den Wilden Kaiser imposant in den Himmel ragen. In diesem Gebirgszug kann jeder bergaffine Sportler etwas für sich finden. Ende Juni war ich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tourismusverband in verschiedenen Ecken des Wilden Kaisers unterwegs und habe die Region bei sechs verschiedenen Bersportarten erlebt und fotografiert.
Nur ein kleines Stück hinter der bekannten Skihochburg Ischgl beginnt ein unberührtes Skitourengebiet vom Feinsten um die Silvretta-Bielerhöhe. Abseits vom Trubel erstreckt sich hier eine naturbelassene Bergwelt mit zahlreichen lohnenden 3000er Gipfeln und gemütlichen Hütten. Mein Bruder Markus und ich erkundeten diesen imposanten Gebirgszug Anfang März im Rahmen einer 4-tägigen Skidurchquerung. In diesem Erlebnisbericht will ich euch mehr über dieses Abenteuer erzählen und euch nützliche Informationen geben, wenn ihr auch auf Skiern durch die Silvretta wollt.
It is a unique experience to climb Aconcagua! I went on this adventure for 15 days in January 2019 with a great team of people. Together we hiked through long valleys, rough snowstorms and surreal landscapes towards the roof of South America. Starting on the 5th of January 2019 I am setting out on a climbing attempt of the highest mountain in South America – Aconcagua (6961m) in Argentina. I am photographing and documenting the whole expedition on assignment for the tour operator Grajales Expeditions. It will take us about 20 days to climb the mountain via the Polish Traverse route. Climbing Merapi is an incredible experience. It is allowed to hike Merapi without a guide and it can be done by anybody with basic fitness. The true summit is a little more difficult, be careful! If you are traveling around Java you should definitely go on a sunrise hike of Merapi. It was one of the greatest things we did in Inonesia!
During our first high altitude experience, we battled cold and technical conditions with little equipment, felt the rush of going to our limits and our British friends almost froze to death. Iztaccihuatl is an excellent option for your first 5000m climb and is a fascinting mountain.
